• A representative violin concerto (first movement)*, or a virtuoso work for violin and orchestra** by 19th or 20th century composers (performed with piano accompaniment, or recorded from a recent live performance with orchestra)

*Violin concertos such as Mendelssohn, Bruch No. 1 or Scottish Fantasy, Wieniawski No. 2, Vieuxtemps No. 5, Dvorak, Glasunov, Lalo Symphonie Espagnole, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns No. 3, Brahms, Sibelius, Prokofiev No. 1 or No. 2, Barber, Bartok No. 1 or No. 2, Shostakovich, and others.

**Works for violin and orchestra such Sarasate Carmen Fantasy or Ziegeunerweisen, Waxman Carmen Fantasy, Ravel Tzigane, Chausson Poeme, Saint-Saëns Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso or Havanaise, and others.
