Biography
Joshua Brooks grew up in Northport, Alabama. Dr. Brooks’ undergraduate studies were in General Engineering at Union University. He then completed his Masters and Ph.D. in Finance at The University of Alabama. Dr. Brooks joined the faculty of Columbus State University in the fall of 2017 after working at Lander University in Greenwood, SC for three years.Dr. Brooks maintains an active research agenda focused on investments and applied empirical methods. He has presented research at the Financial Management Association International US Conference, the Southeast Decision Sciences Institute Annual Conference, and the Southern Finance Association Conference. Dr. Brooks maintains ongoing consulting expertise in the areas of derivatives valuation, returns attribution, enterprise risk management, life care plan valuation, and time-series econometrics.
Joshua is an active member of the local and university community, where he has served in many capacities including boards as well as budgeting and strategic planning committees.
