Biography
Shannon Godlove earned her BA in Medieval Studies from Smith College and an MA and PhD in English with a concentration in medieval literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She teaches courses in Medieval Literature, Chaucer, Old English, and History of the English Language as well as World Literature and Composition. In 2016, she was awarded the Columbus State University Teaching Excellence Award, and was CSU‘s nominee for the University System of Georgia‘s Felton J. Jenkins, Jr. Hall of Fame Faculty Award. She has served as CSU‘s Faculty-in-Residence for RiverPark Campus student housing, and at CSU‘s Spencer House in Oxford, UK, and was an Honors College Faculty Fellow for 2021-2023.
She is the co-editor of two volumes, A Companion to Boniface (Brill, 2020) and Sources of Knowledge: Studies in Early Insular Literature in Honour of Charles D. Wright (Brepols, 2023) and has published in journals including Chaucer Review, Early Medieval Europe, and Studies in Medieval and Renaissance Teaching. She is also the Book Review Editor for Medieval Perspectives, the peer-reviewed journal of the Southeastern Medieval Association.
