Cougar Success Academy
Create your academic foundation and have a little fun this summer at our Cougar Success Academy! Our four-week program will help set you up for a successful first year of college. There are limited seats available, so register today!
Through this program you will:
- Take two core courses: American Government & Public Speaking (taught hybrid!)
- Have fun with new friends at Whitewater Rafting, Ziplining, Bowling, Escape Rooms, and more!
- Develop good academic habits through structured tutoring, workshops, and seminars
- Enjoy delicious meals every day in our dining hall, the Rankin Den (1x meal for commuters/3x meals for residents)
- Prepare for your first year of college with mentors, peer advisors, and dedicated faculty and staff
- Most importantly, find where you belong at CSU!
Live on Campus
Enhance your Cougar Success Academy experience and opt to live on our RiverPark campus in the heart of Uptown Columbus. You'll live with other Cougar Success Academy students in rooms featuring two bedrooms, two bath floor plans and a shared living space with a full kitchen.
Summer residents must plan to live on campus for Fall 2024 semester.

- Be a high school graduate
- Be admitted to CSU
- Plan to enroll during the 2024 Fall semester
- Submit the registration form and pay the program fee before the deadline
- Complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA for the Summer Program (if applicable)
Frequently Asked Questions
- If I move to campus this summer for Cougar Success Academy, can I continue to live
at the Riverpark Campus for Fall 2024?
Students will need to move to their fall room assignment at the end of the academy. Depending on your fall your assignment, this could mean moving to Broadway Crossing on the RiverPark campus or to Clearview Hall on main campus. - What should I bring?
We will send a suggested packing list. You can treat Cougar Success Academy as a camp, and bring a few things, or you can fully move in with the understanding that you will relocate for fall semester. You should bring your laptop, and anything you might need to be successful in the classes you will be taking. Visit our Residence Life community guidelines for more information. - Do I have to participate in the social activities?
There will be some optional activities, however we would love to see all of our students participate fully to gain all the benefits of the program. More details will be sent to you as the programming schedule is finalized. - Which orientation date should I attend?
We recommend attending the July 12th orientation date. Register in MyCSU.
