About the Alumni Association
Just two years after the establishment of then Columbus College, the CSU Alumni Association was founded in 1960, with the central purpose of engaging the University's alumni. Over the years, the Association has evolved to accommodate the changing needs of its alumni base, which today totals over 38,000 degree-holders.

Sophie Wang, B.M. '16
Sophie Wang was appointed to the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Second Violin section. Wang, a Chinese-American, grew up in Irmo, South Carolina, and joins the BSO from a position as assistant concertmaster of the South Carolina Philharmonic.

The mission of the Columbus State University Alumni Association, Inc. is to support, foster and promote the aims and objectives of Columbus State University and to establish mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni. 'Five Under 40,' 'Rising Stars' include five Columbus State alumni
Five Columbus State University graduates were prominently featured in the most recent
edition of “Columbus and the Valley” magazine as part of its annual spotlight on the
region’s “Five Under 40” and “Rising Stars.” These included three of the five honorees
on the Under 40 list and two of its five Rising Stars.
