Biographical Note

Sarah A. Littleton was a resident of Moons district, Madison County, Georgia, when she was the fortunate drawer of this land lot in the lottery of 1827. "Illegitimate" was written after her name on the deed.

Scope and Content

This consists of a deed granted to Sarah A. Littleton for 202½ acres of land in Lee County, Georgia "acquired of the Creek Nation of Indians", dated January 8, 1827. The deed is in fragments, but seems to be complete and includes the seal of Governor Charles J. McDonald.
