In addition to multi-instrument chamber music opportunities, violists enrolled at the Schwob School of Music are encouraged to participate in the Schwob Viola Ensemble. Coached by Dr. Meidell, the ensemble focuses on advanced viola ensemble repertoire. Special attention is directed towards blending of sounds and exploration of color, as well as appropriate style. The Ensemble performs outreach concerts and in 2021 was invited to perform at the 2021 American Viola Society Virtual Festival. In 2022, they were one of two groups invited to perform at the 2022 American Viola Society Festival & 47th International Viola Congress, which Dr. Meidell organized and hosted at the Schwob School of Music in June 2022.
