Biography
Before coming to Columbus State University (CSU), Melissa Ingle Hammer served as a
leader and an executive in the financial services industry, focusing on regulatory
compliance and ethics matters, for institutions, consultancies, and technology vendors for over 22 years. As an energetic compliance and ethics professional with
a history of developing and implementing new programs from the ground up, she earned
a reputation for delivering results under tight budgets and within compressed time
constraints, building well-rounded teams, facilitating an inclusive environment that

well-prepared and successfully executing long-term strategies. She has been published numerous times and is a frequent speaker on the national stage.
Her undergraduate degree is in Finance from CSU, and she holds a Master of Business
Administration from Auburn University. Mrs. Hammer completed the American Banker’s
