Biography
Dr. Steven Wright began his work at Columbus State University in August of 2020 as an Assistant Professor of Counseling. Following his doctoral training for counselor education and supervision at Auburn University, Steven spent three years as an Assistant Professor for the University of Bridgeport’s counseling program in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
As a counselor, Steven has provided therapeutic services to adult and adolescent populations at local community mental health agencies in both Alabama and Georgia, to college students in the state of Connecticut, and to adults and adolescents as a private practitioner in the state of Alabama.
Steven currently serves as program coordinator for CSU’s clinical mental health counseling program and as the counselor education program’s CACREP accreditation liaison. As a researcher, Steven has published and continues to focus his research agenda on counseling pedagogy while maintaining a firm commitment to service at his university, to his profession, and for his student and client communities.
Outside of his professional life, Steven enjoys living life fully with his wife and daughter, exploring new places, supporting the Atlanta Braves, being a food/drink enthusiast, and staying active in various ways.
