Biography
Dr. Margie Yates is a lifelong educator who began her career in P-12 education, teaching for 14 years in schools nationwide and overseas. She started her career in higher education as an adjunct instructor at Auburn University and soon moved to LaGrange College, where she became Chair of the Department of Teacher Education. Dr. Yates has worked with Columbus State University since 2012 and has held various teaching and administrative posts. Currently, she serves as the Dean of the College of Education and Health Professions and the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies.
Dr. Yates has multiple publications and presentations to her credit related to assessment and 21st-century skills, teacher resistance to change, online learning, and closing the achievement gap in public education.
