GRNT 5105. Psychology of Aging (3-0-3)GRNT 5105. Psychology of Aging (3-0-3) Prerequisite: PSYC 1101. Overview of research methods and findings on psychological and behavioral processes during aging. Emphasis on current research on learning, memory, and cognition in aging.
GRNT 5106. Sociology of Aging (3-0-3) Prerequisite: SOCI 1101. Examination of: age as a social construct and aging as a social process, effects of societal norms and social institutions on individual aging experiences, effects of society's age structure on society's institutions, sociological theories of aging, and contemporary issues and public policies.
GRNT 5107. Survey of Gerontology (3-0-3) The purpose of the course is to provide an introduction and overview of the biology, psychology, and sociology of aging. In addition, contemporary topics related to older individuals and aging are introduced.
