About Columbus State University

Nestled in Georgia's Chattahoochee River Valley, Columbus State University offers comprehensive learning opportunities to more than 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students. With an ongoing major capital campaign, CSU has renewed its vision of innovative learning environments, dedicated service to community and an uncompromising commitment to education excellence.

Columbus State University considers itself, above all else, a teaching university. Four stellar off-campus centers bolster this mission with rich learning opportunities: The Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center, the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, the Rankin Arts Center and the RiverCenter, a state-of-the-art performing arts facility that houses three performance halls, a world-class organ and the university's widely respected school of music.

The RiverCenter, a public-private venture, is an example of the university's extraordinarily strong community support in the historic city of Columbus, approximately 100 miles southwest of Atlanta.

With a stellar faculty, impressive facilities and small class sizes, CSU offers a wide range of top-notch educational opportunities, including nationally accredited programs in art, business, nursing, music, theatre and teacher education. The excellence of the university also is available through a variety of online offerings, both for credit and not for credit, and an extensive continuing education program.

A member of the University System of Georgia, CSU is approved to offer more than 50 undergraduate programs and more than 35 master's or specialist programs, ranging from art to pre-med.

Students in all majors have opportunities to go beyond the campus boundaries and enhance their traditional learning through internships, clinical experiences, cooperative education and field research alongside senior professors. CSU provides valuable regional service along with "real world" experience for its students by working on collaborative projects with a variety of business/industry, civic, arts and governmental partners.

Additional educational opportunities are available to CSU students, such as our Honors Program, our heralded Servant Leadership Program and study abroad curriculum.

At CSU, students are expected to provide the effort, enthusiasm and determination to take the greatest advantage of the learning environment, the tools and technology, the opportunities, and the people who empower students to change their minds. Students will find challenges and inspiration, support and encouragement and life-changing experiences from not only a formal education, but also from extracurricular activities, lifelong friends and an energetic college experience.
