EDUT 3215. Technology in the Workplace (2-2-3) An overview of the selection and utilization of technology in the workplace. Includes fundamentals of selecting, evaluating, and using a variety of technologies including computers, television, cameras, and telecommunications: introduction to hyper media/multimedia and developing skills for preparing presentations.
EDUT 3216. Technology for Inclusion (2-2-3)Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education. This course prepares teachers to use technology in the instruction of children with disabilities in inclusive settings. Accommodations, adaptations, and modifications made possible with the use of technology are also presented. The use of technology in writing, updating, evaluating IEPs is a major focus of this course.
EDUT 3217. Technology for the Teacher (1-2-2)Prerequisite: EDUF 2215 or departmental approval. Focuses on technology which enhances classroom management, lesson development, and productivity. Includes: lesson preparation, electronic assessment, on-line research techniques, and classroom materials production. Includes introduction to emerging technologies.
EDUT 5555. Selected Topics in Educational Technology (2-6)Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education and Department Chair Approval. This course is designed to deal with the changes in technology. It offers the opportunity to investigate areas in technology not covered by the program courses. Course may be repeated three times for credit when topics differ.
EDUT 6105. Technology Infusion. (2-2-3) This course models strategies for infusing technology in the classroom curriculum.
EDUT 6115. Foundations of Library Media Programs (3-0-3) Prerequisite: Admission to the graduate program. Elements of operation and maintenance of a library-media center (Learning Resources Center) will be investigated from the historical perspective, types of services, and the role of the media specialist in addressing both educational and cultural needs.
EDUT 6116. Cataloging and Classifying of Educational Resources (2-2-3)Prerequisite: Admission to the graduate program in Instructional Technology or Media Specialist. An introduction to the fundamentals of library cataloging and classification with focus on printed materials, graphic materials, other media, and electronic resources. (Lab requirement for field placement in School setting.)
EDUT 6117. Course Description: Cataloging and Classifying of Educational Resources (2-2-3) Prerequisite: Admission to the graduate program in Instructional Technology or Media Specialist. EDUT 6118. Organization and Administration of School Media Centers (2-2-3) Prerequisite: EDUT 6116 and 6117. The course focuses on the study of the school library media center and its role in the instructional program of the school. Focus is placed on the role of the media specialist, administrative and management of library media programs and centers. Management of personnel, media program budgeting, facility planning will be addressed. Observation of library/media centers required.
EDUT 6206. Introduction to Instructional Technology (2-2-3) An introductory course in the field of instructional technology and the various roles of technologists, issues relating to computing and technology and the future roles of technology in the society.
EDUT 6207. Hardware and Networking (2-2-3) This course introduces students to a foundation in computer hardware and networking technology. Students will learn various types of networks in the school settings. Topics include network management, components and configurations, connections, troubleshooting and maintenance.
EDUT 6208. Educational Applications of Telecommunications (1-2-2) An awareness of the uses of educational telecommunication to enhance the teaching and learning process.
EDUT 6209. Instructional Design (2-2-3)Prerequisite: EDUT 6206 or EDUT 6115. The process and foundations of instructional design, and systematic design of instructional courseware.
EDUT 6215. Methods for Integrating Technology into the Curriculum (2-2-3)Prerequisite: EDUT 6209. Strategies for integrating technology resources and technology-based methods into the classroom settings.
EDUT 6217. Interactive Teaching and Learning Across Distances (2-2-3)Prerequisites: EDUT 6215. Exploration of various modes of distance education for the delivery of instruction.
EDUT 6225. Instructional Courseware (2-2-3) Prerequisites: EDUT 6217: Interactive Teaching and Learning Across Distances. The design and development of multimedia courseware for instructional settings.
EDUT 6226. Technology Planning and Administration (2-2-3)Prerequisites: EDUT 6217: Interactive Teaching and Learning Across Distances. The course provides theoretical and practical knowledge for implementing technology in schools.
EDUT 6227. Digital Video & Audio Production (2-2-3) Prerequisites: EDUT 6215: Methods for Integrating Technology Into the Classroom. This course introduces students to digital video and audio production techniques for implementation in multimedia applications.
EDUT 6405. Practicum in Instructional Technology (2-2-3) Prerequisite: EDUT 6215. A practicum designed to provide hands on experience in a school or training institution, under close supervision, plus class meetings.
EDUT 6698. Internship in Library Media Technology (0-6-3) Prerequisite: EDUT 6118. A field-based experience consisting of practical application of the roles and responsibilities of the library media specialist under the direction of a certified media specialist and a university supervisor.
EDUT 6999. Projects in Media / Instructional Technology (3-0-3)Prerequisite: EDUT 6217 or EDUT 6118. Specialized in-depth research on instructional technology or school library media specialist projects to be supervised by an instructional technology faculty member. Presentation at graduate symposium or to other professional audience.
EDUT 7795. Technology Practices for the Efficient Management of the Learning Environment (1-2-2) Define technology plan, develop a vision, write goals and objectives. Investigate and implement technology available at the building level which will lead to improved student achievement.
