LIBR 1105. Introduction to Library and Information Science (2-0-2) Combining history, concepts and applications, this course examines the nature of information, including information formats and the various methods by which information is organized. It explores the academic research process and examines ways to efficiently and effectively access, evaluate and utilize information. The course also treats the role of libraries in the preservation and dissemination of information.
LIBR 3705. Seminar in Library/Information Research (1-0-1) Prerequisite: Junior standing. Examination of authoritative source materials, including but not limited to reference materials, periodical indexes, and electronic resources in a particular discipline or subject area. Discipline, topic or focus will vary with instructor. May be taken twice for credit with different topics.
