Joseph Quentin Davidson Collection (MC 230)
Biographical Note
Joseph Quentin Davidson was born in Fort Valley, Georgia on October 11, 1905. After graduating from the University of Georgia, he attended law school at Mercer Univeristy. After receiving his law degree, he moved to Columbus, Georgia to join the law firm of Slade and Swift, which eventually became Swift, Pease, Davidson and Chapman. He was active in the Rotary Club, the Candum Club, the Men's Wesley Bible Class of St. Luke's Methodist Church, the Chamber of Commerce, the establishment of Columbus College, which became Columbus State University, the Red Cross, the USO, the Muscogee County Board of Education, Columbus Citizens for Eisenhower, the United Givers and was an officer of the YMCA. He died on April 17, 1969.
