Biographical Note
Jack Osteen, a Columbus resident, donated these materials to the public library in September 2007. They are believed not to be papers from Mr. Osteen's family.
Scope and Content
This small collection consists of stock certificates, receipts and a deed for lot 314 in Columbus. The majority of the materials have the name William B. Slade as a signature. He was a relative of the J. Rhodes Browne family. The materials are arranged chronologically within each folder . This collection was originally numbered MC 045 at the public library and renumbered MC 317 when the collection was donated to CSU Archives in the fall of 2013.

Provenance
These materials came to the CSU Archives when the public library closed its archival collection and donated the materials to the CSU Archives in the fall of 2013. Jack Osteen was the person who originally donated these materials to the public library.
