Tucker Press Award Collection (SMC 81)

Organizational Note

The William Henry Tucker Press Award was begun around 1938 to honor the work of high school students interested in journalism. It was named for the then-editor of the Columbus Enquirer-Sun, as it was known at the time.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of a newspaper clipping named the winner of the 1953 Tucker Press Award as being Richard Haldeman, the sports editor of the Columbus High School paper. He also received a portable typewriter and a personal letter from Nunnally Johnson, the journalist and Hollywood screenwriter. 1953, 2008 1 folder (.1 l.f.)
