International Agents
Columbus State University (CSU) works closely with a wide range of Educational Agents throughout the world. These agents and counsellors work with local students directly; guiding them through a wide selection of U.S. Universities and programs, assisting with the application process, applying for the appropriate visas, and assisting with everything involved with preparing a student to study abroad. Agents are trained by CSU staff to be up to date with knowledge of all of CSU's academic programs, campus culture and community, and the overall application process. Our primary goal is to partner together and assist students in making the best choice possible for their academic futures.
The Agent Review Committee meets monthly to review prospective applications for new agents. We select agents that meet our university's goals of recruiting with only the highest ethical methods and while meeting CSU's diversity goals. Once a contract is in place with an agent, our office provides counsellor support and training, campus updates, and direct student support. CSU is a member of the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) and gives priority to recruitment agencies that have been certified through this association, ICEF, and/or NASFA members.
AIRC is a membership association of accredited U.S. post-secondary institutions and certified student recruitment agencies which develop standards of ethical practice and provides a certification framework for agencies engaged in student recruitment. AIRC has been organized and will be operated as a tax-exempt Section 501(c)(3) organization.
As an AIRC member institution Columbus State University subscribes both to the AIRC standards and to the Rights and Responsibilities of AIRC Institutions and Agencies which may be found in the AIRC Certification and Process Standards Manual.
