Describing Military Experience on a Civilian Resume
As a veteran, you have already had training and job experiences in the military. But most of the civilian organizations don't understand “military speak,” so you need to translate your training and experiences for the non-military recruiters.

Federal Resume
Federal jobs often require that you have experience in a particular type of work for a certain period of time. You must show how your skills and experiences meet the qualifications and requirements listed in the job announcement to be considered for the job. Federal resume is 2-5 pages long, and quite different from a traditional resume for civilian jobs.
