B.S. Kinesiology (Exercise Science concentration)
The B.S. Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science is designed provide students with an in-depth study of how and why the body responds to physical activity and exercise from several perspectives. The program is also designed to accommodate a variety of student interests and professional goals by offering a thorough and rigid core of theoretical and practical Exercise Science courses balanced with flexibility.
Students majoring in Exercise Science are prepared for a variety of careers in the health and fitness industry or further graduate work in areas such as exercise physiology, health promotion, nutrition, or cardiac rehabilitation. In addition, the Exercise Science program provides students an excellent pathway for entrance into graduate medical programs including physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, chiropractic medicine, and others.
Students transferring to the Exercise Science program must have an overall grade point average of 2.5 out of a 4.0 scale.
Career Opportunities
The Kinesiology degree with an exercise science concentration provides students with
a variety of career opportunities in fitness, health, and pre-professional fields.
The exercise science concentration may also prepare you for rigorous certification
exams offered by the American College of Sports Medicine or National Strength and
Conditioning Association.

Academic Advising and Program Requirements
Advisors can help you plan a program of study to best complete your coursework. Current undergraduate students with less than 80 earned credit hours will be advised through CSU ADVISE located in Frank Brown Hall on the downtown CSU campus. Once you have accrued more than 80 hours, your advisor will be a department faculty member to provide personal attention to your career goals. Advisees are assigned an advisor by alphabet of your last name as follows:

Facilities
The main office of the Kinesiology and Health Sciences Department is located in the Lumpkin Center, Room 250. In addition, faculty and laboratories can be found in the Health and Wellness building on CSU‘s main campus as well as Frank Brown Hall on CSU‘s downtown campus.
